Climate change, migration and displacement

Droughts, storms and floods displace an average of 21.5 million people a year – more than twice as many as wars and violence. Weather-related catastrophes are the main cause of people having to leave their homes worldwide. This is the conclusion reached by the Greenpeace study “Climate Change, Migration and Displacement”. The industrialized countries must cooperate with the affected countries to develop strategies and solutions to address increasing climate extremes.
