Less freight traffic, more quality of life – how can we successfully decentralize the economy?

The “transport revolution” is the topic du jour, but the swift growth of freight transport is at best peripheral to the discussion. In this workshop, we will explore the causes of the explosion in goods traffic – a phenomenon that is generally seen as positive, entailing dwindling transport costs, liberalized world trade and centralization of production. We will discuss the structural changes that would be necessary, which approaches already exist, and the roles that movements and digitization can play. Are there any overlaps that can become joint campaigns?
