Stopping new coal-fired power plants worldwide – effective divestment from the insanity of coal

Around 1,600 coal-fired power plants are currently planned at 850 locations worldwide. While this appears to be the coal industry’s dying gasp, it will have devastating consequences for the climate and local people affected by the plants. Urgewald has investigated the largest companies behind the enormous expansion and is calling on banks and investors to cut off their funding. The database is also intended as a tool to help the divestment movement turn off the financial tap on further coal development: There’s no room for new coal!
